Remote Employee Social Impact Box

Virtual! You will receive your at-home Social Impact Box prior to Responsib’all Day when you will be able to join your remote colleagues for a virtual volunteer event. Additional details to follow.

Project Description

Remote employees have the option of selecting one of the at-home social impact boxes below:

Mason Bee Houses

Bees are responsible for 1 in every 3 bites of food we take. Unfortunately, the number of bees is declining as a result of habitat loss due to global warming and natural disasters. Supporting pollinators also supports circular making principals by preserving the biodiversity of ecosystems, promoting resource efficiency, and embracing regenerative practices for long-term sustainability. Volunteers will assemble and decorate native pollinator bee boxes and mix materials together to make wildflower seed balls.

Nesting Boxes

Human activity, global warming and natural disasters threaten the natural habitat of birds, which are essential for insect control and pollination efforts. Supporting pollinators also supports circular making principals by preserving the biodiversity of ecosystems, promoting resource efficiency, and embracing regenerative practices for long-term sustainability. Volunteers will assemble and paint bird boxes and make birdseed ornaments to help attract birds to their new homes.

Hydroponic Herb Garden

Hydroponic gardens are a great way to grow herbs without needing access to an outdoor garden space. This method of gardening conservers water and eliminates the need for soil, making this a great option for urban communities and communities facing food insecurities. Hydroponic gardening supports elements of circular making by creating a closed-loop agricultural system that mimics natural processes and minimizes environmental impact.
